Dr. James Artley

Dr. James Artley is currently the Associate Dean of Student Affairs at Florida Coastal School of Law in Jacksonville, Florida. He is also an Adjunct Professor with Nova Southeastern University, Edward Waters College and Wilberforce University.

Dr. Artley attended University of North Florida where he received Bachelors of Science degree in Health Administration. From there, he attended Nova Southeastern University where he earned both his Masters and Doctorate degrees in Business Administration. He is also a former Service Manager and Market Intelligence Leader with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida where he worked for thirteen years before transitioning into Higher Education. Dr. Artley has a comprehensive understanding of the student experience from enrollment to placement and has a record of accomplishment of creating effective, motivated and empowered teams.

A career educator, visionary and leader, Dr. Artley is highly cognizant of the challenges and opportunities students face. His commitment to creating a work life balance for students while achieving higher education is a priority that has earned him many successes and accomplishment in this industry. He has published journals in business and healthcare and co-authored a chapter “Mentoring Diverse Generations of Employees” with one of his mentors at Nova Southeastern University; Dr. Bahaudin Mujtaba in a book he wrote titled “The Art of Mentoring Diverse Professionals”. His hobbies include traveling, reading and listening to a variety of music. His favorite quote, by Winston Churchill, is “A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.”
