Dr. Mariama Jaiteh
President/ Co-Founder

Mariama Jaiteh, PhD was born in Banjul, The Gambia and grew up in Miami, Florida. As a diasporic Gambian, she is in constant contact with the homeland where she spent several years conducting field research as a cultural anthropologist. Her research interests include gender, sexuality, and transnational feminism. Mariama’s research experiences in The Gambia along with family and professional relations have given her insight into the many ways gender and other social inequities have been impacting Gambian lives. These exposures have propelled and motivated her to engage in socio-economic projects that stand to bring about positive change in Gambians lives.

Mariama loves to read and in her spare time mentors young women of color. She lives in Miramar, Florida with her husband and two sons.
